Silvercore prides itself on being Western Canada’s premier firearms training academy and as such we want all of our instructors to maintain a certain skill level when it comes to shooting and firearms in general. In order to accomplish this standard we have a healthy instructor development program in place to assist in the goal of staying on top. On Monday, July 22nd Silvercore ran a handgun training session at the Justice Institute of British Columbia for all instructors.
We ran through some popular police courses of fire (required for certain agencies to qualify their members) as a warm-up and then moved right along into some of the most common and challenging drills in the firearms community today. All instructors did very well and built up a lot of confidence in their shooting skill sets.
Our live-fire program continues to grow in both numbers of existing courses and expanding into different firearms-related avenues. This expansion necessitates that instructors are well rounded and experienced in all aspects of firearms and related training from the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC/CRFSC), handguns, shotguns, rifles, Use of Force and combatives.
